WHY DO THESE HOUSES MEAN SO MUCH TO US?
In both Peru and Pittsburgh, our "houses" are the backbone of our programs. From fighting food insecurity to helping marginalized young adults launch out into their future, these houses are vital to our success.
In 2023, our houses will become even more important. Our students in Peru will begin their journey towards graduating, we'll be expanding our food partnership network and the Storehouse itself, and launching our first female-owned business. Having these houses fully funded for the year allows us to push forward into new territory!
From Our Directors
"Having the house funded in Peru would mean that, though we have several other expenses to cover, we would have the assurance that our students have a place to live in and we have an adequate space to be able to share daily life with them, thus fulfilling the main purpose of our student program, which is to produce well rounded young adults through mentorship, and not just hand out a scholarship to study."
- Samuel & Melissa
"The storehouse is the center of all we do in our fight against Food Insecurity. Knowing that the space is funded and available to us for all of next year means we can focus on reaching more people. More food, more partners, and more communities all equal more families served. And all of that means fewer people here in our hometown who have to make the difficult decisions surrounding Food Insecurity."
